Talking New to forum - Mazda 3

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum and just want to introduce myself. My name is Sean, I'm 26 from Boynton Beach Florida.

I just purchased a 2008 Mazda3 "S" 5-door Hatchback. The car is silver with black interior. It's completely stock but very clean inside and out. I'll be posting pics within the next few days.

I've already ordered some goodies for my ride. Should be receiving within the next 1-2 weeks.

So far I've ordered:
- Koni Sport Yellow Shocks
- Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs
- AEM Cold Air Intake
- Visual Garage Shark Fin Antenna

Looking forward to being part of this community.

Cheers!

Hi Sean!! Congrats on the new-to-you ride!!

But hmmmmm, that Mod list looks a lot like my own. Are you following me around, Sir?

Suggest setting the Koni's to soft, and remember the fronts go clockwise to soft, ccw for hard.
Also do you know if the PS pump recall has been done to this car? You might want to check as there was a problem with them in these yrs.

Lol! Haven't been following you around but I'm glad to see I've made some good choices!

I don't know about the PS Pump recall but I will definitely look into it.

Also Thanks for the heads up on the Koni's - I really appreciate it.

Cheers

The Koni's ride rather hard, hence the name "Sport" in sport dampers, and the car's ride is pretty firm from the factory. That's why I suggest beginning there and firming them up as you feel you need to.

Many '07's, '08's and '09's had a problem with the PS pump when it was pushed to one lock or the other and held there for a short period of time. Mazda was replacing them @ no charge to customers. Chances are good the replacement pump has already been installed, but you never know what a previous owner may, or may not have done. Some have had this issue while others have never had a hint of if.
Should you lose PS temporarily, remember that while the steering may be hard, it will not cause you to lose control. PS is an assist system, not the entire steering system. It only helps the driver turn the wheel. There is still a direct link between the steering wheel and the tires on the road. So don't panic.

Hey man,

I actually haven't received my Eibach's yet. They have shipped and will be arriving on Tuesday. My Konis are already here so i'll be getting everything installed middle of next week. (I just moved to a new state and live in an apartment complex so don't have any space to jack up/work on my car

I'll post results either here or in a new post once I have the shocks/springs installed.

Cheers

I like the HB better than the sedan myself, but a word of caution:
Not only are they more expensive to buy, but harder to get parts for and much more expensive.
There is simply more available on the aftermarket for the sedan, including replacement body parts, than there are for the HB.

Welcome oh cool one.

I joined today to and look forward to it.

ave driven a lot of cars even mercedes, BMW, but you know, especially compared to ToYoTa and Honda, the 3 ROCKS and is so much MORE OF A CAR..

WHILE I am getting JUST OK gas milage (everyone talked to says theres is much higher), it is quick, must have a god torge to power ratio like the old Jeep Cherokee;s did (NOT GRAND), the old BOXEE looking one 0 0 was like a sports car - and I think Mazda is going to get better and better - - lets just hope they dont go up and up and up...

Met a guy, says the Mazda's are known for this (he was a Mazda tech, now an indie 500 pit crew member), the rear control stabilizer bar gets out of whack, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NOT ROTAT# LIKE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO - but there is an after market piece that is adjustable- which I will leave alone for now (I got a warranty to 964xx K miles.....
But I might let him put in a turbo - -said Ill get way better gas and much more speed.

Also, he said the dealers will NEVER ADMIT TO THAT YOU REALLY HAVE TO PUSH PUSH PUSH - - they will say its a MAITENCE<---------- (spelllllllling)THING, something the warranty wont cover of course!!!

Next is the hatch? Lord willing - -peace all!!!
