New guy, but not newbie
It's nice to have plenty of places to go for info, I came across this site in a search. I'm also in a couple of other Mazda-specific forums, one of which doesn't seem to have much to offer.
I own two Mazdas, one is an '04 6i, that I bought for my daughter. I'm not as familiar mechanically with this car as I am my other Mazda, but learning quickly, and I'm here mainly for info on fixing up and maintaining the 6i.
My other Mazda is a highly modified 2000 MX-5 (Miata). It's been my DD for 3 years, and the positive experiences I've had with its performance and reliability encouraged me to buy the 6i when my daughter started driving. She's taken a job as a performer on a cruise line, so she won't be needing the 6i for a while; I now have time to "get acquainted" with the car and do some updating and routine replacement of worn parts (it has 115K miles).
I do all maintenance on all of the family vehicles, and as much of the repair work as I'm equipped to do (quite a bit, up to pulling the engine). I've done all the mods on the Miata, which include a performance suspension, clutch, lightweight flywheel and supercharger with air/water intercooling.
I hope to pick up some good info here, and maybe share some, too.
