Hi, New here, Wife needed a car and we found a Like New(CPO) 2016 Miata MX5 club with 6500miles. / Ceramic White manual
So far its a GREAT car. Mazdausa sending me a window sticker reprint in a week. and an owners manual as it was missing.
Dealer added on top of the CPO warranty of 12/12000 and 7/100000 powertrain so I have 6yr /100000 full coverage. so many /any repairs will be done at dealer.
I think 1.9% for 60 months was nice also. I have a ton to read and learn about this car, should be fun.

 

Congratulations. Sounds like you got a great car. Doubt you will need the warranty but can’t hurt to have it.

 

Think warranty ended up being like $30/mo. more..cheap insurance I guess... I was lead to believe that Mazda has the computers locked down, so mechanic scan tools can't work on them...so you have to take it to dealer... Is that true? Also, piece of mind in case this has one of the "Bad" manual transmissions I have read about.. pretty sure this is a version1

 

My local mechanic has never had a problem reading codes in our 3 current Mazdas, not that they have ever needed much.

I have heard of the manual transmission problems. I heard it is only for those that take their Mazdas to the track.

Now that you have the extra warranty, be happy. It is extra assurance.

 

No lockout on entire electrical system. Quality scan tools can talk to all modules.

Only Mazda can do software updates.
