New to Mazda
Howdy folks,
I've been buying new Hyundai vehicles since 2003. While those 5 cars served us well and were reasonably priced, I'm considering moving to Mazda for our next new car.
We've always drove sedans (Elantra and Sonata) as they were more fuel efficient while providing the room we need. When eyeballing the Mazda site, I found only the Mazda 3 available for sale. The Mazda 3 is a compact, not mid-sized sedan, correct? It appears we may have to move into a smaller SUV to have mid-sized room. We routinely put 4 adults in our cars and travel to destinations more than an hours away, so comfort is important in our vehicle choice.
Why did we leave Hyundai? Like every other automaker, they raised prices considerably in the past 3 years while eliminating many of the comfort feature they used to offer in basic cars. In addition, their Theta and "NU" engines are a crap-shoot for longevity, but I must commend Hyundai in covering all costs in our Elantra's engine replacement. Finally, my last service visit to the closest dealer was absolutely unsatisfactory, validating the term "stealership" applied to some dealers.
Anyway, I'm at the beginning of selecting a new Mazda and I'd like to hear your thoughts on Mazda products and specific vehicles I might consider. I'll be checking out the various forums here for specifics too.
Be well,
Mike
