New Mazda MPV owner
I am the proud owner of a 1992 4WD MPV 3.0L 6. 200k miles. I absolutely love this truck! I paid $1300 for it. Then it was dirty and the interior was beige turned grey from smokers and years of dirt. The body was straight and it seemed to run fine. The 4WD works. Shifts ok. The AC needs to be charged but not a show stopper. Well, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. Two weekends later, a case of carpet and upholstery cleaner, not to mention about a quart of ArmorAll, and lots and lots of sweat, I'll be darned if that thing did not look almost new. Just in time for the summer. I took my whole brood out to the lake for a week. It was great! We always had to take two cars anywhere. Four kids, my wife and I almost make a ball team. Anyway, it ran like a charm. Recently I had some problems with the rack and pinion steering, a power steering leak, a brake leak somewhere, and an air leak in the rear stabilizer. So it was parked for a while. I was thinking about selling it but I just could not get it out of my system how much I truly liked this truck. So I am keeping it. All the current woes are repairable. I'll change the timing belt, if it has one. Does it? This truck was and is IMHO worth well over the $1300 paid. I simply cannot wait to get it back on the road. Sure, it's a mini van. How cool can I look in that? In my older years, I have found the practical more important. Besides, I do like this better than any other mini van I have ever seen. If I want to look that cool, I'll just jump in my Jeep.
Thanks all!
