Hi, My name is John. I had been hanging out at Mazda Trucking but since they no longer exist, I find myself here. Here is a pic of my recently acquired 1990 B2200. Ive done alot of work to it and have about $3K total in to it including the $500 purchase price. It should be a reliable fun little ride for a good long time. I hope to pass it down to a family member as a gift soon when the situation is right. Other vehicles currently in my direct household include two Foxbody Mustangs, a C4 Corvette, a 79 Malibu wagon, 2017 VW GTI, 2012 Ford Transit Connect Wadon and a 2013 Ford Escape.

I'm looking forward to participating here.

Nice looking truck. Welcome to the forum.

I had one when new and loved it. Mine has probably rusted to dust by now. Yours must have stayed out of snow and salted roads.

Congratulations.

Thanks. It does not have any rusted through body panels except for a small spot under the bed liner at the top of the rear wheel well. I did have to fix rust in both front wheels at the typical place it happens, the seam at the wheel well floor board junctions. It was rusted through there on both sides. I used 1/16” aluminum sheet metal and pop rivets then sealed it all up with rubberized Flex Paste (good stuff!). Totally solid and no leaks. Several applications of oil based Rustoleum was slathered on at various stages as well.

The truck has 122k on the odometer. The engine was rod knocking at the time i bought it. Previous owner neglected oil leaks and it eventually suffered from oil starvation. All good now though. Punched out, .5mm overbore, new pistons, rods and mains turned under, etc. I put it all back together with the original carb and its running fine. Although, i have a new weber carb swap kit in the garage i plan to install in the future. Ill post some pics of the rebuild in a little while.

its got new clutch, pressure plate, flywheel. I rebuilt the driveshaft with all new ujoints and carrier bearing. New motor mounts, rear spring bushings, rebuilt front calipers, rebuilt rear wheel cylinders, new front brake hoses, new front stabilizer link bushings, repaired gas tank leak, new rear step bumper, 4 new tires. Mobil 1 synthetic fluids in motor, trans and rear. The donut spare tire and rim were toast so I replaced it with full size rim and tire mounted in the factory location under the bed at the rear. I could go on and on.....
