Hi,
I've been a random reader for a while but now have a need to sign up. I own a Mazda 6 2004. A dome light was left on in my car at a parking garage when leaving on Xmas vacation last Saturday. We arrived today and the car was dead, sooooo dead. Absolutely nothing worked. The valet tried to jump the car, nothing. After a we connected the jumper cables my horn started going off (never had that happen before). We pulled the jumper cables, checked everything and hooked them back up. The horn did not go off, Some dash lights finally came on (seat belt, engine, battery) and all gauges moved. Exterior lights worked but nothing else. Starter didn't even click. I returned later with a new battery. Hooked it up, still only just a few dash lights. Starter won't even tick. Here's what struck me as odd though. If I press the button to lock or unlock the doors they tick but don't actually unlock. Truck popping button does nothing but click. I can open the truck with a key. The radio doesn't work. The AC/Heater doesn't work. What I've gathered from the internet is my battery was so dead I think when we went to jump it we activated a built in security system to immobilize my car and prevent the car from being jacked. It is preventing anything from happening. I didn't even know I have a security system. I don't have a car FOB (never got one). I've essentially bricked my car. Has this happened to anyone else or can someone help me UNbrick my own car?

*edit*
I'm starting my search through the forums now. I just wanted to get something online before it gets to late and everyone went to bed.
