I just inherited my second Mazda. I just got a 2001 Mazda MPV DX. I want to install power windows and door locks. Aside from buying the hardware doe anyone know if the wiring is already in place?

Hey Chris, congrats on the car and welcome to Mazdaforum too!!

I actually read your post, this one, yesterday morning and was trying to find out the information for you, but no one seems to know?

Being a Japanese/Ford car, and having some experience w/the way they do things my guess is yes. It's easier and cheaper for them to make one wiring harness rather than two. The only thing you might need to make, find or add would be some little sub-harnesses that connect to a more central, master harness.

That's what I found when adding some junkyard finds (a rear wiper/washer set up) onto a Honda I had. The switch wiring and connector were there, as were the connector for the hatch wiring, but the actual wiring from the hatch I had to install myself... not a big problem really.
