Talking Ryokoloco™

Hi everyone! My name is Ryoko, I'm 19. Living in the East Bay Area, California and I currently own a Black 2009 Mazda6 iTouring. I have been driving this amazing car around the Bay Area since August of last year. I have never seen another '09 Mazda6 until I went to L.A this February. Wow, right?

Anyway, I'm new to this whole forum thing and I just wanted to say hi and meet more Mazda lovers like myself.

Well, take care everyone and hope to hear from you guys soon!!

Ryokoloco,

Welcome to the forum, and I am glad you are enjoying your 2G 6. I also have a 2009, however I couldn't quite swing the Touring edition, so I have an I Sport with 6spd. It is kind of nice in a way not to see quite as many 2009-2010 6's on the road. It makes our cars a little more exclusive. Have you had any problems or issues with yours since taking delivery. I only have 600 miles on mine, and am enjoying every minute of driving it. Mazda really needs to market it better, because a whole lot of people are missing out on a superb value and vehicle.

FFEMT6,

Hey! Thanks for replying to my thread!! Hmm, I don't think I've had any problems with it yet other than the recall for the driver side door awhile ago. OMG, YES! I know! It is so nice to not see 8293847109428 of them driving around every day. Even until this day, I have probably only seen like a handful of them. It always makes me mad when I see one, because I wana feel unique, but it also makes me happy that people like it too. HAHA!!

Have you had any problems with your car? I didn't get a sport because I didn't like the interior and the rims of it :/ but I also didn't need a grand touring so I settled for the touring. haha! I remember when I got mine, there were no black ones in the bay area (since most dealerships only had show cars at the time, so they were mostly red/silver), I had to wait for them to transfer one here from Southern California. The wait for it to get to me was horrible!!!!! I couldn't wait at all.

Thats the one thing I don't like about the Sport also is the steel wheels and 16"s tires. I didn't think I would like the analog basic gauges either, but they have really grown on me and I like the classic white on black look during the daytime, and red on black at night. It is still very sporty. The one advantage the I Sport has over all other 6 variations is the weight advantage. A Sport should be slightly quicker in a straight line due to the lighter weight of the smaller tires and wheels and less equipment. However, the Sport will also sacrifice some grip for the same reason. It still is a very good handling car though and more than adequate for my taste. That said, I would have rather had the Touring or Grand Touring, but my budget right now does not allow it. I don't want to take food out of my kids mouth.
