Should I buy a Miata?

Should I buy a Miata?
Ok so maybe this is kind of a dumb question be asking but I am toying with the idea of buying a Miata. I have only heard good things about them but the dilemma is that I have never had a convertible before. I drive a 2000 Jetta GLS and have really enjoyed it. Leather heated seats, very comfortable, good driver. It is getting old though and I need a change. My only real concern is the winter months as I live in Seattle. We get a lot of cloudy rainy days and it will be my only car. Not sure if I want to spend the extra money to get a grand touring car with heated seats but they sure are nice. So how are they in rotten weather? Soft top or hard top just not sure which way to go. Thanks for any advice.

RE: Should I buy a Miata?
I have never had a problem with our Miata top other than the zipper. It has been used as a daily driver since 1992. We store it in the garage year round, and have a hard top for winter. We have retired it from daily driver duty due to rocker panel rust from the extreme salt in the winter here.
I don't know much about the newer models.
