Anyone tried an electric supercharger?
Anyone tried an electric supercharger, turbocharger? I know it's sketchy but even if it
delivers a fraction of their claim it'd be worth it. I saw this www.superwhirl.com and
www.electricchargers.com I think there's a few others. Anyone actually tried one?
Thanks,
Jordan

RE: Anyone tried an electric supercharger?
oh god...not another one...
electric supercharges dont make anywhere close to enough boost to make any real difference.
quote from ad:
It is critical that you have a high flow air filter; our electric superchargers have high demands for fresh air.
if you ask me, electric superchargers are one small step above a CAI.
notice the one graph they showed.
the average B16 engine makes about 160-180hp.
they made 30hp off of the e-charger.
10-15 of that was probably from just the cold air alone.
i wouldnt do it..... ever.
go the real route, get a real super/turbocharger

RE: Anyone tried an electric supercharger?
Those are a scam straight up...a 12v fan does nothing! You know those little personal fans that are hand held at walmart thata about the same air they push...Yes i have tried one. i bought it off ebay for like 25 bucks. What a waste of money.. All they are going to send you is a billiage pump fan from a boat...next to that you cant put that thing any where in your car without modification. My CPU fan on my desktop blows better air than thoes. If anything get a tornado thoes you actually notice a diffence in higher RPM's and they help verry verry little bit in gas miliage. I sell them at auto zone for a 65 bucks but thoes are even a joke.
