Best car I've driven is my current car, a Superb 2.0 TDi 2008 58 reg, the worst I've driven was a VW Polo in around 1994/1995, gearstick went, dash went
[Polo wasn't mine BTW, it was my old boss's]

worst car I have driven, not owned:
Autobianchi. Basically a Fiat 500 station wagon.
Best: '73 Mercedes Benz 250. Driven, not owned. I drove it from southern France to Frankfurt Germany taking home an older couple when the wife fell ill on vacation. Yes, they are like vaults on wheels.

Best Car I owned is a toss up:
1) 1989 Ford Probe GT 4cyl turbo, fun car, great looking, standard
2) 1987 Nissan P/U extended cab standard 4 cyl (dual spark plugs). I bought this one used and it was reliable as hell, even the clutch! I had a cap on the back and it still went over 90 mph.
Worst cars: 1) My current Mazda 6 in stock form: Poor exhaust caused pre-cat problem & misfiring so i re-designed it after the pre-cats, auto tranny bad (changed at 20,0000ish miles) so i pit in an external cooler, warped gas tank changed under warranty, internal leaking brake booster, poor ign coils upgraded, bad postion of EGR intake tube changed 2) 1978 Chevy Monza: V6, i used to change spark plug on 1 cylinder every 4 months and put in lots oil. It finally blew the engine, rebuilt it, and started burning oil less than a year later. I did get that car up to 120 mph.
3) 99 GMC Safari Van: put wide tires on it, big stereo, 4.3 ltr V6, i blew the rear end, put in an eaton posi with 3.73 gears (stock was 3.23). Had leaks on driver side down by computer, wires.
1st pic Monza (nice whitewalls, LOL), 2nd & 3rd Probe GT, 4th Nissan P/U with steroe by tailgate, last 2 pics GMC Safari Van

Best cars:
1) My beloved Inga, a 1980 Honda Civic 1500DX HB, 5-sp, blue on blue. It was small, very nimble and great on gas (32mpg @ 70mph all day long.) After a few mods (carb, distributor, cam) she was even a bit faster than before AND got better mileage. I was even able to get most of my 7 piece drum set in her, if I packed carefully. I beat the snot out of that car for 120k miles and even took a few auto-x trophies on basically stock suspension, but she was badly rusted out @ 187k and I had to get rid of her. She was a GREAT car that you never see anymore.
2) My first car, a 57 Chevy 210 2-dr sedan. Purchased for $400 back in '73. Dropped a rebuilt 327/325 in her. Someone before me dropped in an early Corvette 3-sp w/Hurst (non-syncro 1st gear,) but she still had the OE rear gear for the 2-sp PowerGlide in her (4.10:1.) Topped out @ 105 mph because of that, and hydraulic valve float which I didn't understand at the time, but got there quickly. Yup, passed everything but the gas station. 9.5 mpg w/my 16 yr old right foot, and w/only a 12 gal tank, I was there a lot.
Worst cars:
1) Most disappointing was my 89 Golf. It got me there, but did absolutely nothing well. And the brakes scared the hell out of me more than a few times. The best thing about that car was the sunroof, but even that was disappointing because it was metal instead of glass.
2) After the Chevy, I bought a 1961 Corvair for $75 to get me to school and work. No floors. Completely rotted out. The heat was filled w/oil smoke, so it was useless, the car had no guts at all and the transmission slipped relentlessly. I got rid of that one almost as fast as I bought it.
