If you can't get the scratch out by sand paper, it is most likely the scratch is too deep that you have to use touch-up paint, let it dry after a day or two, then sand it down to smooth, then buff/polish with auto polishing compounds. Is the scratch down to the primer layear of the paint? If it is I really don't see any other way other than touch up paint then sand, then buff/polish it up.
