I doubt what he does will be judged as to whether he's "black enough" Intelligent people shouldn't care what color he is.

I didn't vote for him, but the election put him into office.

We're in for change, still not sure if the change he is proposing is the kind I want.

I want the government involved in as little of my life as possible, I don't depend on them healthcare or money, but the dems tend to go for the socialized systems that benefit those that don't pay into those systems. (I'm one that gets to pay.)

He's got 4 years to earn my respect, if not, I'll vote against him...If he truly makes change for the better and the country is going in the right direction, who knows how I'll vote.
I agree with you 100%

the changes that he is proposing are definitely not the kind of changes i want. my income level is the one that he seems to want to tax the hell out of to "redistribute wealth". i don't agree with any of his public or personal policy.
I can understand where you stand cuz my combine income with my wife is reaching that level fast as well. And we probably will reach that income level within the 4 year term of Obama presidency, and I am not looking forward to his tax policies.

This is an interesting and very controversial thread. I am not here to offend anyone, just to add a few of my thoughts, that's all. Politics is never something that interest me, nor do I ever count of governement to help me. The way I look at it, this country has provided me a place to call home and a place to make a living, and a place to enjoy freedom. To me that is way more than enough, and a lot of us sometimes keep asking for more, why? We seriously need to ask ourselves 1st, what the hell did we do to contribute to this country and society to deserve it? Really, the kind of lifestyle we have is ultimately caused by our own action, and no one is forcing us to be the way we are, it is ourselves that did it. We just need to get out of our own comfort zone to change, in order for our own life style to get better, government can't really do it for us.

The health care system, I don't believe in a single damn thing Obama want to do. Here is how I look at it, this country health care is expensive for a reason, because US has most of the best doctors in the world, and quite a number of these doctors came from other countries, why? Because the expensive health care system in the US went to pay these highly skilled and qualified doctors what they want. Yea most other countries in the world has better health care system than US, but when you got an emergency in the hospital in those countries, you better pray hard that those doctors won't kill you! In the US, you won't really have to worry as much cuz you will always be able to go to a doctor that is fully capable to save ppl lives. I understand that not all hospitals are good in the US, but it is fair to say that there will always be a good medical facility with well qualified and skilled doctor close by where all of us live.

The war in Iraq, etc. Yes war sucks, and yes maybe we shouldn't have attacked Iraq. However, there is a saying no sacrifice = no gain!I alsounderstand ppl want their loves one deployed to Iraq back ASAP. But here is the thing, is that really a good thing to do right now? We all agree that Terrorist and dangerous + powerful dictator is not good for the world right? If Bush didn't attack Iraq or Afghan, would it been better? We can't say for sure, no bodyknows. But since we already attacked them, we better make sure those terrorist are gone for good and finish the job, cuz if not, there will rebuild and retaliate. And since those terrorist are even more pissed off since we attacked them, I think issafe to say they will retaliate bombingAmerican even worse than9/11 if we don't get ridof them now. We all have to accept the fact that, Uncle Sam like to interfere with all the world affairs too much that make a lot of ppl around the world not fond of US. Either way, Obama is gonna face a tough job to rebuild America imagearound the world, that is for sure. If he does a good job, he will earn my respect. I will not judge him on that for now.

As for the taxing I heard about to tax more on the rich to benefit the average American, you know what that sounds like. Sorry I can't resist it, it almost soundstoo much like communist to me than what you call democracy and freedom..lol. Ok I guess I talk too much, andplease I don't mean to offend anyone, just expressing some of my thoughts and opinions.

Yes, marginally higher taxes on$200K+ income earners = communism. It's in all the textbooks.
