RE: RACERS Vs RICERS
This thread was just a waste of time The word rice or ricer gets under my skin. Now a days everybody takes aim at hondas.
Some of the people that call others ricers have only just come into the import scene.
Just because a person adds mods to their cars and you don't like it that person is automatically called rice.
when will you people grow up
I've own hondas, mazdas, nissans, toyotas, fords and when it comes to reliablity honda comes out on top.
No one is telling you to go out their and buy a honda
but if someone choose to purchase a honda or integra add an exhaust body kit, engine swap or whatever so be it.
I have yet to see any off those so called car experts who call all honda rice and put acuras down, beat my buddys 502HP turbo interga. Even when I had my 250HP civic there was nothing that came close.
So stop being ignorant and know what the hell you are talking about before you open your mouth.

RE: RACERS Vs RICERS
dude im sure your mates car goes sick... in Australia alot of ppl go for the whole "Fast and Furious" look. which ****s me because those cars are insane. what i was getting at was i dont mind if you do a car up, but don't make it look like something its not. Dont put racing tyres on if you don't race!!...thats gay, i know of a guy that took his entire back interior of his car out cause he wanted a weight reduction...but didnt touch the motor.
look i race cars (on the track) so i dont want a little 1.5L looking like it compeats in "Nascars" or "GT" i dont know what you mean by grow up either??
The moral to the story is: If you want a high performance car, save up and GET ONE...you never see a bubble do low 9's. if you want a nice car make it look nice without going over the top.

RE: RACERS Vs RICERS
Hey, I'm a Volkswagen owner just checking this forum out so take it easy on me.....
I was wondering why torque steer is ricey? I have torque steer on my GTI (223 wtrq) and it's annoying as crap. Does this make me a ricer?>
Thanks for the help
EDIT: also how does "crusing, drifting, and burnout contests" make you a "racer" at a car show?
EDIT AGAIN: Honda's are nice cars, Mazda owners shouldn't really make fun of them to much. (neither should VW owners of either brand), It seems like people on here are upset with honda owners for some reason. There not all ricers.

RE: RACERS Vs RICERS
the mopar nationals have a burnout contest and the winner last year was a 70 superbee with 1100hp...i dont think his car was ricey at all...
and torque steer isnt ricey...it means youre FWD and you have torque....

RE: RACERS Vs RICERS
and i agree with you 100%! i think that the whole "ricer" thing is a terrible misconception...i have seen a latr model eclipse with like 20g worth of after market work that couldnt get out of his own way...i call that a ricer, whether it looked good or not..on the other hand, i saw a kid with a old beat up CRX with the interior gutted, and a turbo run mid 12s in the quarter...ive also seen a 3g RX7 with a DRINK DISPENSER!!! in the dashboard run 11 flat...rice isnt what you do to your car, its how you perceive your car...or so i feel.
