Howdy,

I am one of the organizers of a statewide meet that is taking place this summer. It started to be planned last month, and will take place in July. We now are having people coming to the meet from Texas to Connecticut.

Here is some information.

There will be bbq's, raffles, give-aways, awards and more!!!!!!!

All cars are invited to attend, but there will be parking preference to Mazdas. The location is:

"Come see the fastest street Protege in the World!!!!!!!!" Yes that's right, CWill will be attending and you can come see the current quarter mile record holder at this meet: 12.44s @ 115.9 mph!!!!!

Also, VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! Alcohol is NOT ALLOWED AT THIS PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are caught drinking at the meet you will be kicked out by the rest of us. There are plenty of places to drink AFTER the meet. Maybe we'll all hit up Ybor City after. Do not ruin a good time by getting the whole group kicked out of a park. Ask anyone who knows me, I love to drink, it is in my heritage, BUT I love being an [insert-derogatory-name-here] even more. I have no problem giving the boot to individuals chancing a good time for the rest of us.

Tentative Schedule for Day of Meet:
Registration: 9:00am - 11:00 am
Food: 11:00am - 3:00pm
Judging: 11:15am - 2:30pm
Awards Presentation: 3:00pm - 4:00pm
Raffles and Freebies: 4:00pm - 5:00pm

At registration, a number on a sticker will be given to you, based on your sign up number. This is to be placed on your windshield for judging purposes.

is this just a car show or will there be some racing involved too

 

It is a meet, a show, and just a general gathering at a state park, so no racing. We do get together to go to tracks, either in Gaiensville, or Bradenton, or elsewhere, but not for a national meet...yet.

We held our first big meet last month,a nd had about 90 cars. This weekend, we will be going to a Clearwater, Florida dealership for a meet with over 105 cars. We have at least 60 people coming already to the July meet.

I am going to gatornationals this year. Cannot wait. 4th row, starting line. can you say earplugs?
