Who do u think would win, i think the speed3 will win but it would be a close race, even though the speed 3 has a smaller motor its putting out more hp, but then again top mount dont beat front mount ( i think). Plus the srt-4 is heavier ( i think), but also has shorter gear lengths since its 5spd while the speed3 is 6spd. The srt does have a higher speed limiter setting its like 150. Anyway people, thoughts?

 

The SRT is damn fast, I know that it is the 2nd most expensive car in America to ensure( when the total vehicle cost is under $50,000). Then again the speed3 is pretty damn fast. I know both cars have an LSD and handle like *** (sorry but the Mazdaspeed3 has 68% of its weight ni the front). I'm not sure. they seem to be the same car on a spec sheet.

 

The Speed3 had a better weight dist than the SRT-4, I believe the SRT-4 was a tick faster 0-60 due to the greater weight over the front tires helping in launch. (Could be wrong on that though)

Regardless, which would you rather be in...the Speed3 or SRT-4...No doubt in my mind my choice between those would be the Speed3.

 

my buddy just bought a 04 srt-4 with ~13k mi on it and he thinks its the **** and thinks his neon will destroy the speed3, even after watching a stock speed 6 walk all over a srt-4 (stock) i just wanna see him lose...bad.

 

well, im guessing it would be a pretty close race, but im pretty sure the srt4 would fall apart halfway down the track...

we had a neon in the shop today, and it had rear drum brakes.
anyways, the pads came right off. and since they were just loose in there, they destroyed the brake cylinder in there.....
the guy said he owns the record there for having 3 neons come in and be completly dead with a blown engine or whatever

 

lets put it this way. A stock Mazda 3 would perform better in a saloom then the Srt-4. So the Mazdaspeed 3 would destroy a Srt-4. Perhaps it might be close in a straight line, but this is it!

 

and the MOST expensive to insure under 50k. *drum roll*
the Acura RSX Type-S(now dead). it wasnt even that quick.

and the srt-4 is faster than the Speed3 (CarAndDriver said so)
BUT. the speed3 is 0.2 seconds quicker in the 1/4 vs the WRX. (14.2 vs 14.4, respectively)

 

neons is **** and it sucks ****.. its fast cuz it cheap and is made of plastic parts... They break alot and personally id rather be seen in the mazda speed then in a neon...

 

srt-4's arent that bad a couple of my friends have them and they are pretty quick even with stock turbos and actually we have more plastic parts than they do.

 

plastic = lighter car.
