Camaro Z28 Laps Nurburgring In 7:37
In the video below, the Camaro Z28 turned in an incredible lap time of 7 minutes and 37.4 seconds @ Nurburgring, faster than cars like the Porsche Carrera S and Lamborghini Murcielago, exotics that cost exponentially more than the Camaro.
Packing the last-generation Corvette’s 505 horsepower 7.0 liter LS7 engine, the 2014 Camaro Z28 is all about corner carving and track days. It’s been lightened by some 300 pounds by eliminating every unnecessary bit, and the Z28 boasts features like Magnetic Ride Control that help stick the car to the pavement in hard corners.
All these features plus a whole lot more help the Z28 navigate the Green Hell’s 14-ish miles, and judging from similar times in other vehicles, there might be a little be left in the tank too. (it actually rained the last minute and he hits speeds of 160 mph on long last stretch).
Regardless, GM seems to have thoroughly vetted the new Z28, and if it can handle the Nurburgring, we’re sure it won’t have any trouble with America’s highways and back roads.
The video is awesome as it shows mph, rpm, track reference, G-force.
This is my 120th thread! I do have some Mazda threads as well!
