Default Who would win???

I have3 scenarios for you guys:

1) I have a 2001 protege es 2.0L 5spd: bone stock, a buddy of mine has a 2000 escort zx2 5spd (borla axel-back only). I am about 80lbs heavier than him and i have subs in the trunk (maybe 15lbs or so) so thats about a 95lb advantage. We have equal driving skills. Would I have a chance? If not, what are some mods that would make it possible?

2) Another one of my friends has a 2001 2 door, 5spd cavalier base model not a z24 (short throw only) and he seems to think that he can take the guy with the zx2 mentioned above. He's pretty cocky (cav owner) so it would be hillarious if he got beat. Cavalier owner is also about 40lbs heavier.

3) Me and the cav???

I know that these are some pretty damn slow cars lol...so don't be bashin. Its all in good fun. FYI: the reason why we have not raced yet is because the roads are covered with snow up here in Canada lol. So what do you guys think will happen when the roads are cleared? Peace [8D]

I don"t have a clue. As you say it would be the turtle against the other turtle and anything might come of it.But think that either way, you guys should keep it on the track and not the street, especially in Canada where as I understand it if you get caught you all lose your rides to the crusher and spend some time in jail too.

Also be aware that we have a no street racing rule here. Most forums have rules like this these days. It"s just not safe, not cool and too many people screw up their lives in an instant street racing. Too many other people to consider.
Should you not take my advice and actually go through with it on the streets, please do not post the results. If you guys find a track to test your cars and skills on, you may post the entire story, as you wish.

I totally understand what you are saying v1. We do have a track here...but it is a 4 hour drive from here[:@]. Your'e right, the risk isn't worth it. I will try to get some track times booked in the summer. What do you think my car will run lol? A blistering 16-17 . Then again I am planning to have a injen CAI, vibrant cat back, and a corksport short throw shifter all installed.I might have to start another thread by the time the tracks open up lol.[sm=sorry.gif]

i would say that you and the escort would be close since you are basically the same cars on paper. both 2.0, both 5 speed, and both within about the same weight of each other. you and the cavalier would be a little different story. personally, i think that he will have a very small advantage over you. this is one of those things that would come down to bare bones specifics such as maintenance and tire pressure. all of the cars would pretty much be the same.

if the cav is just a base model an not a z24 the race would be between you an the escort, then again bepends on driver an road if straight you could pull on him an if racing on turns the escort def has better handling since lower to ground an more of a medium sups. but for sure keep to track up there would be crap to get ride smashed just for bein stupid
