wider tires for 2019 CX 5 GT Reserve
Eventually I will replace my OEM 225 width tires with 245 width. Discount Tire (Las Vegas valley) says they can fit up to 255 width but for me 245 is taking it far enough for better handling without losing too much fuel mileage.
Anyone else here have similar plans to improve handling?

Assuming you keep the aspect ratio the same, then handling should not change, only the lateral grip at the limit. Hopefully this won't be an issue for you, but I'm wondering if sticky enough 245 section width rubber is put on a CX-5, you might be able to turn hard enough to cause the vehicle to roll over.

shipo,
The 2019 CX 5 GT Reserve and Signature have AWD which helps stability but unfortunately the damn Mazda Stability Control program cuts in waaaay too soon for the "enthusiastic" way I drive so a rollover is very unlikely to happen unless I try to make a sudden 90 degree turn at 60 mph.
What I'm looking for with wider tires is more "surefootedness" in the twisties and more responsiveness in handling in normal driving - well, "normal" for me, that is.
I've autocrossed both my tuned manual trans. Maxima and my last gen. twin turbo RX-7 so I understand where the limits are in a vehicle, how to safely find them and then respect them. "I may be crazy but I ain't stoopid."
